Dreaming of Dinner's Christmas Wishlist

Dear Santa,

I've been a very good girl this year. I've started to eat more healthy and I've been doing a bit of exercise, too. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I've been reading a lot (the most I've read in my entire life!!!), learned to let go of negative things, and I can proudly say I ate at fast-food chains less than 10 times this year. I think I deserve some pressies!


Books by Ruth Reichl

I LOVE HER! I have 2 of her books, Garlic and Sapphires and Comfort Me With Apples. I was lucky enough to find them during sales at Powerbooks. Brand new and only P50 each! Before that, I only knew her as the hippie cook/editor who produced a food documentary about slow food and Berkeley. I also vaguely knew that she was a food critic for the New York Times. I never knew that she was so interesting!

I can't wait to get my hands on Tender at the Bone and For you, Mom, Finally which I find very sweet since she and her mom always had a love-hate relationship. I'm hoping I can find these during a sale, too. Hehehehe! I've been scouring every Booksale I've been to, but so far, no luck! Still keeping my fingers crossed.

La Tartine Gourmande Book

The blog La Tartine Gourmande is truly one of my inspirations! Beatrice is  French woman living in New England. She take the loveliest photos of the fresh produce she gets from the market and she inserts pretty photos of her surroundings, too. Because of her I put seeing a cranberry bog in my bucket list! Sometimes, she allows her readers to take a glimpse of her little daughter, Lulu, picking fruit or running in the fields. I've only seen part of her leg, her curly hair hidden under a cute knitted bonnet, and her tiny little hands picking berries, but I can tell that she's a happy little girl :)

Beatrice's recipes are something very different from what we normally have here in the tropics! The vibrant colors and the lovely stories of her blog, and now book!, are truly inspiring.

I want to spin lovely, fluffy cotton candy every freakin day!
This type lets you plop in any hard candy and it turns it into wispy candy clouds. SOUNDS EXCITING!

And how about foie gras with spun candy on top? #sushal #wishfulthinking LOL
